1990 4.3 starts then dies
Hi all, well my situation is your turn on the car and initially it will start up and run ok, but will most likely die within about 10 seconds. Then if you start it up it fires but starts dying and then you give it a little gas and it dies. It does have gas in the tank. Any ideas?

Watch fuel pressure and spacheck and watch spark when it does it. Any codes or check engine lights?

Re: 1990 4.3 starts then dies
I am having almost the same prob. with my 88 s10 blazer. When i started it in the morn it was running great then started idling high then low then high then low and repeated this. i tried driving it and it sputtered some and bogged out when i floored it. if i let up on the pedal it would run then bog when i hit it. It then would start hard and if i gave it gas fire then die i could get it running by jazzing the pedal really fast. i checked map sensor and is not the prob also checked for vacuum leaks. but if i unplug the map sensor hose it will start and idle good for about ten seconds then die. if i plug the hose back in it will barely start i swapped map sensor with a good one and same prob. any clue what it could be? would highly appreciate the help thank you
