96 Jetta stalling out

i've done a lot of work and spent a lot of money trying to fix my 96 jetta gl but it still has problems. it'll start up and run for a few minutes but then stalls out, it will start back up sometimes and run for a few more minutes but then stalls out again. i replaced the timing belt and tensioner, crankshaft sensorand camshaft sensor. i've tried everything and cant figure it out maybe there is something i'm just missing out on.

Spark plug and wires. Ignition coils. Fuel filter. Fuel injectors. All could be issues. Any CEL?

Re: 96 Jetta stalling out

okay i replaced the spark plugs, ignition coil and fuel filter and it runs great now but the only problem left now is when im sitting at a red light and accelerate it stalls out. the only way to keep it from stalling is to barely accelerate and once it hits 10mph its fine from there on. it's fine if i can feather the gas pedal right but it still stalls sometimes. any other suggestions???

Re: 96 Jetta stalling out

OK. So when you put it in gear it wants to stall, right? I see the only other thing you have not replaced is your fuel injectors. If you have a improperly spraying fuel injector it will dump fuel under a load and stall out your vehicle. With the age of the vehicle I would change out all four. Search around for the best price.

Fuel pump. It can keep up as long as you don't slam on the gas. But overheats if you ask too much of it. Just like any other electrical FP.
