Question New Problem! Are you shocked??!! :)

Ok so we took care of problem #1..... now problem #2!

I don't know if this is a common problem with Ford Focus models but... I have a 2003 model. The high beam headlights work but not the low beams. I haven't tried anything yet. I don't think it is the bulb because if someone is standing in front of the car, they can see the low beams try to turn on when the handle is pulled from the inside of the car. I can use everything else on the dimmer handle (idk exactly what it is called) it is only the low beams that dont work. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Shawna

Hey Shawna,

If the low beams try to come on when you use the high beams then more than likely the multifunction switch aka high beam and turn signal switch is bad.

If this is not the problem then the headlight switch itself could be bad also. Do the dash lights come on with no problem?

That sure was the problem! Damn you are so good at this!!!! Im learning a lot too!!! We fixed the Pcv hose and the lever for about $80 ourselves! thats awesome! I also bought a new toy! Its a Actron pocket scan plus. I wanted to find problems myself without having to take it to someone. I just plugged it up and it gave me 3 codes.

P2195 (O2/AF (Air Fuel)/WR (Wide Range) Sensor Signal Stuck Lean - Bank 1, Sensor 1), P0171 (Bank 1 System Too Lean), and P1405 (Differential Pressure Feedback Sensor Upstream Hose Off Or Plugged)

This is in machanic language so I don't understand what these really mean. I don't really want to search again cause I have learned I can trust what this site says. I want to stick with that. Any help would be appreciated greatly! THANK YOU!!!

Ok I would reset the codes and drive for a while. At least 2 of those codes are directly related to the massive vacuum leak you had with the pcv line. Let me know if they come back.
