torque converter solenoid
Do you have to pull the engine out to change the torque converter solenoid. The car is a 1990 buick century v6 automatic. How do you do it?

Re: torque converter solenoid
Nope, just need to pull the side pan on the transmission. This usually requires the drivers side of the trans to be lowered to gain access. Usually the sub-frame needs to come down in order to do this. Otherwise they are not that bad to do!

Re: torque converter solenoid
Can you explain how this is done? The drivers side of the transmission has to be lowered? I haven't worked on buicks before and even less on automatic transmissions. So would that mean taking apart the driver side tire, axle, etc?

Re: torque converter solenoid
Whatever you have to do to get the side pan off. Some of them you can get out with out having to do much of anything and others will require all the things you mentioned and more.
