OBD2 conector on a 97 lx 4 door

Hi I have a friend with 97 civic 4 door lx and he said tha he cant find the obd2 conector on his cars. I was wondering if someone could post a image or tell me where it is located.

I told him that it show be underneath the drivers side dash board but he says that it isnt there.

A mechanic friend told me once that "the connector has to be within the drivers area and will not require any tools for access"

Sorry... but I lost my 96-00 service manual CD. (where is that CD !!)
