98 Bravada Engine

My 98 Bravada's engine has started knocking so I am going to replace it. I called around and found an engine from a 97 Bravada. The guy said that a 96-98 engine would work and a 99-2001 engine would have to be rewired to make it work. Will this 97 engine work in mine?

Re: 98 Bravada Engine

The 1999 to 2001 will fit,the wiring is the same as the 1998.You need the starter bolts and bell housing bolts if you decide to put in the 1999 engine to 2001 because they are metric bolts.I have done them without any wiring harness modifications using the 1999 to 2001 4.3s.The 1997 will fit.
