2005 Freestar engine emissions light on
When the engine emissions light came on in my 2005 Freestar, I had the OBD-II code read, and was told it means that the EGR valve needs attention. The mechanic said that it could be that the valve itself needs to be replaced, or that it, or one of the vaccuum hoses needed to be cleaned.
Problem is, I have no idea where to find the EGR unit, or how to remove and clean it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

A mechanic told me it might be a clogged vacuum hose, rather than needing a new EGR valve. The EGR valve seems to be a dealer only item that runs $300+. |
