2001 3.5L engine stutter intermittently

My intrigue has 145,000 miles on it with few problems and has just recently started to stutter once in a while. This has only happened twice over the last 300 miles. During my 25 mile commute to work the car will stutter several times with a change in rpms and mph. It feels like a series of engine misses or faltering fuel supply. It will only happen for several seconds and then run smoothly again for the next hundred miles. Maybe I'm jumping the gun and should wait for this tank of gas to be run through. Checked for codes tonight and only showed the P0410 that is a faulty AIR pump (howls on startup and whines intermittently). No other codes read. I was expecting to see a Crankshaft or Camshaft position code. Any ideas. Plugs, transmision fluid, and coolant all recently changed.
P.S. I had the air pump replaced about two years ago, ($295 parts and labor). It only lasted through one Northern Michigan winter. Any suggestions where I can buy a replacment pump and the relocation hose to intake from inside the engine compartment. I saw the part #19515548 on another post but don't know where from. RockAuto shows a Cardone remanufactured ($85.79) and an AC Delco $145.79 but neither indicate the kit to relocate the intake. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I wouldn't replace the pump again. This code is often caused by something simple, like a clogged check valve.

he may have to deal with it before the next inspection is due. if that code is still present, he won't pass emission inspection.

There was a discussion on the air pump where the poster had a leak:

Just get a cheapo code reader and clear it before you get it inspected. Wont come back on that fast.

Shady? Yes. Effective. Yes.

I wouldn't call it shady. I would clear the code as a normal course of diagnosing the problem.

The OP will have to take the chance that the car will be "ready" for the inspection after clearing the code. Supposedly it takes a certain number of cycles for the computer to be ready.
