My 2001 Grand Am 2.4 was missing really bad but was still drivable (barely),so I changed the coil packs and reset the ecm by unhooking the battery for a few minutes. This in fact actually made it run worse so now the service engine soon light flashes when above 2000 rpm and the trac off light is on,and it is not drivable at all,and it smells as if it is flooding itself.Im stumped on it and dont want to just throw away money on unneccesary parts.Any ideas on this will be greatly appreciated.thanks
BTW the previous owner said he blew out the cat. update-Today we pulled the injecters and swapped # 1 with#3.Changed the plugs ,boots and the fuel filter. The #1 spark plug was gas soaked.Seems the more new parts I put on it the worse it gets.

Today I changed the ignition control module and coil pack housing.Im not sure which one was the culprit but it runs like new now.
