Dodge Ram will not start
I have a 97 Dodge Ram 4x4 that will not start. It cranks over but seems like it is not getting fuel, I have pulled spark plugs and put new ones in but nothing. Not sure what to do now.

Re: Dodge Ram will not start
put ur finger in one of the spark wires and then have someone crank it.
if it electrocutes you then yeah you have spark. then you can test the fuel line by pressing that valve stem on the fuel line the second you turn the key. you have about 5 seconds after you put key to start position to watch a fuel pump spray out that line. thats how I check it. My hair looks like Albert Einstein's hair dew though |

Re: Dodge Ram will not start
It could be the battery. Is it the orginal battery that the Ram came with? When you turn the ignition, do any light come on?
About 3 years after owning mine, all of a sudden one day, absolutely nothing happened when I turned the key. No lights came on, the motor didn't even TRY. Turned out the cells in the battery were exposed to some air, and it killed the batt. Normally they're underwater in batt acid, and I think the acid evaporated just enough that it exposed it. Alternatively, it could be the alternator (no pun intended) not charging the battery as much as normal. |
