start for short time

1997 crown vic start for short time then act like when running out of gas.
notice that before when open the door the chimes would sound . Now there is no sound and car will not start

By wont start, do you mean, wont crank or cranks and wont start? Are your dash light indicators lighting up when key is in the on position? Can you give a little more info, please?

Sounds like an electrical problem if multiple systems are affected. You should check all fuses (in engine compartment and under dash). Also try to get your battery voltage read.

Car cranks and lights on dash work battery good new one
cranks and starts but will not stay on pump gas and it just dies
CHECK ALL FUSES WORKING CHECK UNDER DASH FUSE

Well I don't think the chime is related, but based on what you said, it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. When you turn the key on (without starting car) you should hear the fuel pump kick on for about 2 seconds and then turn off. If you do not hear this from the rear of the car, the fuel pump itself or the wiring to the fuel pump is bad.
