Fuel Tank

so i have to get a new tank on the 84 because it's rusted and leaking. i've scoured craigslist to no avail. is there any other make/model which could interchange tanks? anybody in the NY metropolitan area that can point me in the direction of a place where i may find a used tank?
thank you

Re: Fuel Tank

You can get a brand new tank for under $160 and stop worrying about it.

Re: Fuel Tank

i've found new for less than that. however, all 3 of my cars have been failing me this summer in one way or another so i need to minimize costs as much as possible.

with that said, how difficult is it to change a fuel tank?

fuel tanks are not usually a scrap yard sale....when the vehicles enter the yard the fuel is drained,,,then the tanks are flattened out so that they are not an explosive issue...

the best and common method is to install a new fuel tank...metal tanks do rust and this then effects fuel system with rust that damages the system..
