Wrecked my lum

So 8/27/09 i wrecked my car. It was a 1999 chevy lum wit the 3.1. I lost my brakes on a bridge and slammed into another car . Like a dumb@$$ my gf and I were not wearing out seat belts(Not normal for us). But thankfully the airbag got us both. Little bruised and pride hurt but everyone is fine including the women in the other car.

Well after paying 300 dollars in tow fees.... I got my car back. Window is gone from the bags deploying, front end isn't to to bad. Needs pulled and new plastic. Everything else seems intact. Knowing the cost of new air bags will cost the car isn't really what im looking to save. As stupid as this sounds. I thought back about doing a winter project for next year. Just a car that will put down some nice power and take these kids down wit the rice pipes and wings lol.

So I was wondering the realistic side of putting in a 3.8 supercharged?
I know the car is not gonna be fast. I know it won't be a 10 second car. hell wont even be a 12 second car. But I'm really just looking for somthing fun to fool with.

And i know. Who wants to make a lumina fast... Its either this or my 93 geo metro lsi is getting a Suzuki swift turbo'd engine. Just want something not alot of people wanna try or have.

I'm not sure. I did enough upgrade engine swaps in the past to have lost my taste for it.

My general advice is to research it thoroughly, get everything even remotely related while at the salvage yard, if that's where you get your motor...cables, hoses, wiring harnesses, motor mounts, exhaust parts, ECM, radiator, etc, etc...

And plan carefully how much time and money you have to spend. Then plan on spending 2-3 times that amount by the time it's done, it always works that way, and it's always the little details that end up taking the most time.

I figured if I ever went nutso with mine, I'd go Aurora V8...

If only it didnt have front wheel drive and it wouldnt be a pain to convert to rear wheel
