Front Park Lights?
01hd, i have no front park lights, got turn, flashers, drl, headlights, just no front park lights. replace all front bulbs cause the front left turn was out that didn't fix it. Getting power through the fuse. rear park and aftermarket cab lights work. just replaced just switch and still nothing. didn't know if this was a common problem or if someone had any ideas as to where to go next. thanks.

did you check all fuses like the ' "fr prk fuse 10A "...? this is in the engine wiring harness junction block..next to the battery.. |

Re: Front Park Lights?
sure did, thats the fuse i talked about earlier, it isn't blown or anything. theres no power to the bulbs(last time i checked at least), i even checked the 30A green fuse labeled prk lmps. would this mean theres a open between the fuse and a connector or splice? i got "alldata" at work but i can't find a diagram for the lights to save my life.

follow these brown wires back to the fuse block and then into the wiring of the fuse block...use voltmeter to find loss of voltage.. |

Re: Front Park Lights?
if i remember right i checked some brown wires coming out of the bottom of the fuse block and they would light the test light when the switch was operated.

Re: Front Park Lights?
replaced all the lamps in the front so those i know are good. i plan on getting into in depth this weekend. could i check for resistance between the wires coming out of the fuse block that go to the lamps.

the best way to check if the lamps are good is to place lamps in a socket that will light the lamp...then you know for sure the internal filiment and the exterior connections are good.. |

Re: Front Park Lights?
I dont think that there is a bulb problem. Pull the junction block off so that you can back probe the connectors. Trace the brown wires back, positions c5 and b5, and then work your way back to the sockets. Since you lost both at the same time and assuming the turn signals still work the grounds for the circiut are good since they are shared. My guess would be the splice in the junction block.

Re: Front Park Lights?
your parking lights will turn off when the parking brake is set or depressed just a little. i would check the switch there. some times its just a simple readjustment.

Re: Front Park Lights?
just to tell people what the problem actually was. Had a friend come over that works at a Chevy Dealership and got a case of beer
found the front park light fuse to be loose in in holder in the underhood junction block, it was getting power to the fuse just wasn't good contact to send it to the lights and as i was backing it out of the garage he noticed that i had no right rear tail lights, and come to find out that was another loose fuse holder, just thought i would update in case someone else has the same problem.

Re: Front Park Lights?
i hear ya there j cat, the shop i work at we have a customer that is always bringing in his vehicles cause of rodent chews. You would think after spending over $400 on a rodent chew repair he would do something about it. but oh well. the problem was where the fuse went into the underhood fuse block. the metal female slots weren't tight enough on the fuse to let current go through the way they should, so i just moved them closer together with a small screwdriver, now they work like new.
