2002 Envoy - 6 disc changer trouble

I've read the other posts of trouble with the cd changers but still can't get any where with mine. It has 2 cds in it and won't play or eject them. It reads player error and only makes noise and then stops. Others posted to try the fuse or neg terminal to fix but I've tried this and no luck. Dealer ship says to have them take it out then they would ship it to NY to get it fixed - equaling a few hundred dollars or more. Anyone have a new idea - this seems to happen to people more than I ever imagined. Thanx for any help. 2002 Envoy
