The Winter is coming and I don't have heating

Well,

The transmission problem is still present but, we got used to it, and deal with it by using a few tricks. However, I drove my Trans Sport without heat all last winter long! It was brutal. The culprit, aside from me, is the fan, and I tried to remove it and got stuck!
Now is it possible to remove the fan motor without removing the impeller. If it is an interference fit between the impeller and the motor shaft, then I think I know what I am to do. If it is not, then any input in removing the motor or motor with fan would be appreciated.

It is the fan's motor! It had been dying for 2 years before it made it's last fart in November 2008.
I "tested" the motor, and from time to time it made a few spins. Power supply is kosher, and the fan housing is clean without anything that can prevent impeller from free rotation. Moreover, when I removed the assembly from the body and pushed the impeller toward the motor, I felt a fairly strong torque. As soon as I released the grip , it made a few turns and then died down. I am absolutely positive the culprit is the motor!
And the impeller rotates freely when I spin it by my hand!

..quote model year if you want proper advise...until 96, fan was external..that is, in engine compartment; 97 and after, blower is internal, under dash. THis being said, well, motor can be shot, specially if used extensively at maximum speed.

Re: The Winter is coming and I don't have heating

I got mine out from a 96 3.4 & it was tight. Think I unbolted the coil pack (1 or 2 bolts) to make some room & no big deal. Have to be careful though not to force it ..you can wreck the plastic fan.

Mine was a press on non replaceable. New motor was 60 bucks & 100 with fan.
