2002 Silvy 4.3 won't start
ok so first the we thought the fuel pressure regulator went out since its been acting up for the past year or so. we changed it tuesday night. truck still wouldnt start. checked in see if we were getting fuel through the filter, yes. wednesday comes around so we were looking into the ignition, of course i had to work all day so diditn get to really check it. put a new rotor and cap on, checked to see if coil was getting spark and checked ignition control module. All was getting spark. We went back to the fuel system, the fuel pump wasnt working properly. so i bought a new one today, just got done installing it, and it works. still wont run.
it"ll want to run if we spray starting fluid in, but its like its not getting enough fuel. we then pour a little fuel down the throtttle body, then start it and it runs for alittle then cuts out. so i know its getting spark, just prolly not any fuel. Any suggestions? thanks also just rplaced fuel pump second time this week and im still reading 37psi

check the 8th digit in your VIN, if it is a W specs should be 60-66psi, if it is an X it should be 55-62psi. you might replace your filter it could be clogged up with dirt just enough to weaken the pressure output before it gets to the engine. hope this helps

the engine code is a w
i just replaced the fuel filter again bc i had to when i warrantied the fuel pump a few hours ago, and the fuel pump is a delphi. yea i thought about checking the voltage but i dont have a volt meter. what plug am i supposed to check it at? theres two going to the pump thanks

and i also changed the relay and checked all fuses. theres also no engine codes

the pump was original until this past thursday. replaced it with a delphi. wasnt getting enough pressure so i figured it could of been a bad pump so i warrantied it to for another and pickin up bout the same psi

so replacing the pump you still get the same low pressure readings ???? if that is the case I would suspect a fuel line restriction....see if the lines are damaged... also hook up a hose to the fuel pressure test port and direct the fuel into a gas container to see if the flow is constant and solid flow with the fuel pump held on...

the other area if the voltage is correct at the pump....would be internal connections to the pump of voltage/power and or the suction line defective or not sealing so as to be able to draw fuel into the pump..
