Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Is the EVO 3 16G a direct fit on a 1G GSX w/ a S16G already installed? What other modifications need to be done to work properly?

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Well now for the relevance of my question, looks like my turbo seals are shot. What do you guys suggest I do? It costs so much to rebuild, just a few more dollars I can just buy a new bigger turbo. I have no cash for a repair like this, what should I do?

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Why not rebuild it yourself?
you could do it for like 60$. And if you dont want to there is a guy on tuners that does it for 125 I think and does an excellant job.

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Where do I get the parts I need to do it? Won't it need to be balanced and what not? I can also see some oil on the outside of the turbo, like when looking at the whole turbo set up it is right to the left side of the oil inlet. I don't mind doing it myself just what do I need to buy to make this happen?
Is this the kit I'm looking for? Scroll down to the TD05H $89 http://www.gpopshop.com/mitsubishikits.html |

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Yea thats all you need. And as for balencing, I believe each part of these turbos is balenced seperately. I have taken many turbos apart and even swapped wheels between turbos without every balencing them afterwards. And they run fine. Now I would make your wheels before you remove them and try to put them in the original spot just to be sure. Also make sure you know which way you compressor nut is threaded. Some 16g turbos have left handed threads.

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Good new is that the turbo seals are not blown, I'm a product of my own destruction apparently. I connected the valve cover breather line right up to the MAF housing in one of the inlets. That was causing oil to be sucked through the line and blown through the turbo, that explains the smoke out the exhaust.

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
Easy fix.
As for the rebuild for the future, they are easy to do. For balancing, you just mark everything as it's coming off or take pics of how everything looks and where it's all at. Piece of cake.

Re: Easy question for someone that knows the answer
I contacted that guy from Tuners, if I ever need it rebuilt I probably will just have him do it.
