Question car stereo cuts out

need some help. installed a new sony mex-bt2700 stereo with sony external ipod adapter in my nissan frontier crw cab p/u. every so often the unit cuts out then immediately turns on. i dont lose any of my settings however my ipod will default back to the first song in which case i have to reselect music all over again. i returned the first unit and the same problem exists so that elliminates(?)that. connections and ground are all good, speakers all work but those connections i did not check. hope this is a common problem with an easy fix. thanks

"dont lose any of my settings however my ipod will default back to the first song" - It sounds like your Ipod is resetting itself...Might be a problem with that....Does it cut out with CDs or the Radio?
