Got the car back from VA Speed today... new catch can, adjusted valvetrian + gears

Picked the car up... had them install isky adjustable guide plates to correct the valve-train geometry issues we ran into w/ the AFR heads, plumb the new valve covers for an oil fill and catch can lines, and install 3.89 gears.

Gears feel good.. haven't dogged it as I'm still heat cycling it but it's much quieter and feels good.

Looks great, Brian. What type of hose did they use for the breather line?

Keep a good eye on the catch can level Brian (i.e. first time out check after the first session). By joining the 2 breather lines together you have lots of velocity in the line to the catch can so you may end up with more oil in it. Will depend on how much your engine is exhaling.......

Will be interested to see how the 3.89 gears impact your lap times.

It's a braided rubber hose that uses crimp AN fittings. Turned out nice.

Will be checking it after every run. But whe nwe had the composite covers ghetto rigged w/ clear tubing off of the fill spouts to the catch can we got nothign more than oil mist in the tubes and nothing in the catch can.

I will report back on how the gears work this weekend... I'll be hooking up the traqmate this week and installing my naca ducts in the window openigns.

Also, the shop confirmed that it is indeed a true-trac in the rear end... so I'd assume all of these cars have that setup.

I had a similar setup on my cobra and never had a problem with oil in the can. It did build up condensation though. Occasionally open the valve and drain it.

Yeah I have a can on my Z06... I drain it once a month give or take. It does build up condensation in the cold months.
