'92 3.3L ciera torque converter replacement
My 1992 3.3L V6 Cutless Ciera S (3 speed transmission) stalls occasionally when coming to stop at a light and then must put in neutral restart, put in Drive and sometimes stalls again. Went to AAMCO and they said probably torque converter.
1. Has anyone replaced the Torque Converter in this car and how hard is it to do? 2. Do I need to pull the transmission to do it? 3. Is the torque converter very accessable? 4. Where is the Torque converter solenoid located? (someone said if I disconnect it, might fix problem) Thanks for whatever advice!! Last edited by dddaaa; 08-22-2009 at 05:52 AM. Reason: addition |

Re: '92 3.3L ciera torque converter replacement
All you need is the TCC solenoid, common issue on these cars, go to another shop!! The solenoid is inside the trans side cover.
