Lockerbie bomber free.. WTF!?

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...tory?track=rss

I'm sure most of you have heard of this. Hypothetically, what's to stop some psycho who hates all of humanity from bombing daycares, killing for no apparent reason, etc., from going to jail and contracting an incurable disease (accidentally or on purpose), and then be let free? This is illogical (Scottish) law policy IMO. Maybe I am dumb but a lifetime (multiple lifetimes at that) sentenced is supposed to mean you spend the rest of your natural life in prison. So whether you die from cancer or any other reason should not matter.

This is not illogical. It is compassion, but it is woefully misguided. Such compassion may be okay for some ordinary criminal cases, but not this one because of it's high international profile.

IMO it sets a prescident that British law is soft on some cases, and sends the wrong message to terrorists on the resolve of the British to face terrorism.
