Ford Falcon GT-HO

Some 'thunder from down-under'. My take on the '71 Ford Falcon GT-HO Stage III.

Critique and comments are always welcome!

Thanks, GB. I'm waiting for Mr. Rexins critical Aussie-eye to see if it passes mustard.

Missed this one, and it's just too cool not to comment.
Luv those 4 door Falcons with the shaker.
Nice work on the detail and the layout background.

Thank you, sir, for your kind words!

I use an ancient version of Photoshop (v5...I've got a copy of CS4 around, but I've been pretty happy with what I'm using), which I use with the scanned in traditional line work (Col-erase and Bic pen are my tools of the trade). Sometimes I find my line work too messy, but it is a style. I have done pieces where I've left my line work out and although they look fine, they don't have that style...

The racetrack which I dropped in, is from the cover of the 1971 Bathurst programme catalogue...1971 being a winning year for the GTHO. But yes, amazing stuff, as the racers were essentially production cars, back in the day. And with that big 351C sitting over the front wheels, balanced handling was not the GTHO's forte, was it? LOL!

I've got one or two Australian car mags around here (I'd love to get a hold of some more...) and I see that the prices commanded, even for the GTHO 'replicas' are quite up there. I've certainly never seen anyone attempt a replica here in Canada...you can just imagine the looks on peoples faces, to see a RHD Falcon with a 'shaker' hood around these parts. :O
