Wobble

First off, thanks to everyone for input. I've been here for a few years and have always gotten the answer to my questions. The people here are the best!

With the patronage aside, my jeep has a serious wobble up front. I read a few threads but mine happens when I hit the brakes or hit a bump. I know the brakes are bad. Discs are shiny as chrome. But even the most reasonable bump can start the wobble. It gets worse if I speed up and goes crazy if I use the brakes. Sometimes if I just let off the gas it will get really bad. I rotate the tires as well.

It's a 2001 Cherokee 4.0 Limited with 120K and all original 2/wd with stock sized tires.

Otherwise it runs like new.

Ideas?

Re: Wobble

FIrst issue,
wobble, Seeing that your Jeep is stock I would first inspect ALL the suspension items for wear. Ball jionts and such. If this proves out then your next move would be to find GOOD alignment shop and have yours checked. You could be out of adjustment and this is causing your wobble. You mentioned about your brakes, shiny rotors are NOT an indication of worn brakes, but if they are warped then this will definatly contribute to your problem, especially when braking. IF you apply your brakes and your steering wheel begins to shake, get your rotors turned or replaced( makesure that they are NOT turned below limits, this will cause premature warpage and is unsafe).
