01 Ranger trouble codes and starting rough

I am doing a favor for a buddy and i have ran into some problems running a diagostic test with his 2001 Ford Ranger with codes P0171 and P0174. I looked them up and it means system too lean in bank 1 and 2. I hooked up a fuel pressure testing and this is what i got. Ignition on engine off the fuel pressure tester jumps to around 32 and drops close to 0 immeadiatly after a very short time. Engine on steady at 67. While driving 67 and drops to 60 when i hammer on it. I replaced a bad vacuum hose like 4 months back and that fixed the codes but they came back after a short time later. The truck also cranks for 5 seconds to get it to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated i have been working on this for a while.

Thanks,
Mike

The MAF sensor could be bad. To check it pull the connector off the sensor. The system should revert to a rich mixture. If it runs and starts OK then the MAF sensor needs to be replaced or the fine wire inside cleaned with carb cleaner.
