Re: blower motor

The squealing is probably the motor itself. The loss of a speed is probably the blower resistor which is located near the motor assembly.

While the top of the blower can be seen by removal of the black plastic above the windshield on the passenger side, the removal of the blower is done from inside the car. Never done this repair before, but I found the following site that's pretty close to the procedure on the Intrigue, and should help you.

As this link mentions some people have actually had luck lubricating the motor, but how long it lasts, vs. getting up under the dash is the key question.

Re: blower motor

You received good advice from carbon02. I removed the noisy heater motor from my '99' around 5 years ago - pulled it apart and greased the bushings - still running fine.

As for the low speed loss its probably the resistor. Its up under the dash on the firewall - a little tight but not impossible to change. I believe I got mine from Advance auto - had to order as they didn't have it in stock.
