Dim Headlight Problem

I recently noticed my headlight was out on my 2003 Hyundai Accent. I replaced the bulb with a 9003 halogen bulb. Now, its very very dim; just enough so I probably won't get a ticket for having a bulb out. I very hesitant to take it in somewhere because my local Firestone charges about $100/hour for looking at shit. So I'm wondering if there is any do-it-yourself stuff I can try to rule out cheap and easy stuff? Is it likely the new bulb isn't rated for my car, is it possible a wire is loose...anything?

Re: Dim Headlight Problem

Get it solved by getting upgraded with ballasts and HID bulbs and find your headlights best on the road.
