obd codes 102 and 452 1998 lumina

hello I have a 1998 lumina 3.8 with about 79,000 on the clock. today the service engine light popped on... and soon the car acted abnormal. It studdered a couple of times while under moderate acceleration at about 20mph. I slowed to a stop twice the first time accelerated hard, and then slowly and she acted fine. About a minute later it studdered once, then the engine died at about 15mph. started right back up. It is acting inconsistent, and also seems that the idle is kicked up ever so slightly. Also while in park if I nudge the gas it seems to rev up a bit as it should, but it holds the revs a bit longer then it should. Vacumn leak?? I had the cars SES light checked and recieved codes 102 and 452. Any Ideas??

P0102 is a MAF sensor problem. Try unplugging the MAF and seeing if the problem goes away. You can also try wiggling the connector for the MAF while the car is running and see if it stalls. If it does the MAF is probably bad. Another thing to try is take a look at the MAF sensor wires to see if they are dirty (the sensors in the air snorkel)

I tried unplugging the sensor didnt change anything. I also went and purchased the special hollow torx t-20 to remove the maf sensor. I removed it, it looked very clean but sprayed it with the appropriate cleaner anyway. The problem is still present. any Ideas.

Is the code 452 for the fuel pressure sensor?? If so could this sensor be cause of my problems, and be the reason for the code 102?? Is the fuel pressure sensor in the tank, or is it by the belt on the passenger side on top of the engine?

Its not a fuel pressure sensor. Its a fuel tank pressure sensor. Its a little device on the fuel pump (usually black and has three wires to it). Its what monitors the pressure or lack there of inside the tank when the evap system purges or vents. It has nothing to do with fuel pressure or delivery

So do you think the fuel tank pressure sensor could cause these problems? I replaced the fuel pump about 3 months ago, which included that sensor. Or is this a maf problem? I'm still curious why I got 2 codes.
Thanks for your replies

Usually a full scan will show what the maf is reading this will give you an idea if there is a problem. Of course you have know about what is normal here. Remember any air entering behind the maf will cause a code, make sure you have no vacuum leaks and both seals are in place under the map sensor/ pcv valve set up.
