Backup and license plate lights not working

similar problem. my taillights not working on 99 lesabre. found no fuses under hood only relays. found some info on a light control module(lcm). cant find it under dash. have traced wire from trunk to drivers kick panel but loose it behind emergency brake. tried a 1960,s method of tying front park lights to headlights. this got all taillights on thus engaging brakes doesnt add any more illumination. really need a wiring diagram. any info on here to find one?

Re: Backup and license plate lights not working

more searching. there are fuses under hood. protected by cover but unfortunately none for tailights. wish i knew what the relays were for. they have no identification and owners manual doesnt show them.

Re: Backup and license plate lights not working

I'm not sure about the '99 LeSabre since I don't have a wiring diagram for GM "H" body cars but on the '99 Regal there is a backup lamp relay and it is controlled by the transmission range switch (aka park/neutral switch) and body control module (BCM).

Hopefully someone with a wiring diagram weighs-in.

Quick look at 98 manual shows IP fuse block fuse 8C, 10 amp. It goes to the lamp control module for exterior lamps control.

Park LPS, INT lps fuse 6c in IP fuse block, 25 amp.

Do lights work at night when perimeter lighting is on after using the remote to unlock or lock the car?

Libraries have access to AllData from computers inside libraries here. Might be a try. Copy entire web pages to thumb USB drive and print at home. I also saved to a floppy disk. Our library may have changed to computers without floppies...

Backup lights have a fuse 1B 20 A in IP fuse block.
