q-panel and headlight replacement

I had a bit of bad luck last night and hit a deer. The hood, passenger q-panel and headlight assembly need to be replaced. Insurance won't cover it so I am looking for used parts and plan to do the work myself if possible.

Questions: Please post advice and pictures of change out procedures for the Q-panel and headlight assembly. I have a Silver 2000 Alero GLS.

Re: q-panel and headlight replacement

Sorry to hear that.

What condition is the plastic panel in that holds the headlight? On replacing the q panel are you referring to front passenger side fender? If so that is easy considering. Remove the plastic splash guarad underneath the fender and bolts on the engine compartment inner apron and a few bolts at the door hinge area. Also, the right hood hinge assembly.

Re: q-panel and headlight replacement

Yes it is just the fender, and the headlight holder also needs to be relpaced. Any advice on replacing the headlight holder and headlight?

Re: q-panel and headlight replacement

That part is a little more tedious but DIY doable. Just remove both headlights and the plastic header panel that they both clip on to. You may have to remove the front bumper cover/skin first.

The plastic part that holds the headlamps is called a header panel.
