Auto On lights

I got a 2004 2500HD crew cab silverado, I wanted to know how do you disable the auto on light system on it? thanks

On the 2000 model year, it is done by pressing the dome override button 4 times fast.

Not sure about 2004 but it can't hurt to try.

yeah but isnt that for the daytime running light?? or are they both tied in together?

On my '03 HD you turn the headlight switch all the way to the left and it will turn off your DRL and headlights after you start the truck and they will remain off until you turn off the truck. After doing this, you can manually turn your parking lights and headlights on or off with the same switch by turning it to the right. Once you re-start the truck you will have to perfom this again to turn the lights off once again, if you want to continue to disable the auto feature. I don't think you can permantly disable the auto feature.

oh the reason is I dont want my HID's turning off and on, dont wanna mess them up like that so trying to see what I can do. The DRL's dont bother me.
