Headlight Sockets
2000 Eclipse 2.4L
Anyone else have their headlight (headlamp) Sockets start to melt and cause your headlights not to work. Mine did it the other day, the autoparts store say you have to buy from the factory ( is that true?) Is there a better socket out there than the factory so that this doesn't happen again. TIA |

Re: Headlight Sockets
This is normal, I just bent the metal in the plug so it would grip the prongs better. Fixed my problem.

Re: Headlight Sockets
Ok thanks, yeah I put some clips on the end of the wire and plugged it into the socket, it will work at least for now.
I haven't called the dealer to see how much the sockets costs, I was also thinking of seeing if a junkyard had some. Probably see how this quick fix works out for awhile. Thanks for the advise |

Re: Headlight Sockets
Yeah the bulbs draw more power than the wires can handle so the tend to melt.
