Where to mount a NACA duct? Rear lexan? Will it pull air?

I want to install a NACA duct w/ a hose directed at me to get some air flow in the car. My buddy's Viper race car has his NACA duct in the rear lexan, but it's hooked to a blower fan to pull air in through his cool suit cooler and sent it to his helmet. Thus, it doesn't depend on the NACA duct to draw in the air.

Would installing one in the rear lexan be able to draw in air sufficiently? Most race cars have them on the 1/4 glass (if applicable) or in the sail panel, but I don't want to cut up the roof body work if I don't have to.

Any ideas?

On the car below there is a NACA duct between the rollbar and the roof panel on the passenger side..with a duct going right to the drivers head..

That looks great. What has everyone else done to promote airflow through the cabin?

KISS....brake duct hose tie strapped to the mirror and roll bar. inside end has some wire to make it adjustable and stay in position. It CRANKS out air and no cutting required

Re: Where to mount a NACA duct? Rear lexan? Will it pull air?

I spaced the bottom edge of the rear window 3/4 inch away from the body using white hard plastic 1 inch diameter spacers for each screw. They are at Lowe's in the nut, bolt, fastener drawers in the hardware area. They are 3/8 thick, so I stacked two along the bottom and one on the side screws and kept the top flush. Completely reversable unlike using a hole saw. Could readily stack three for 1 1/4 gap. Lot of cross sectional area for air flow. My first time out with this is this weekend so I'll know if I need more.

This thread is funny. I was just talking to a buddy who owns a Panoz about cooling the interior. We've been getting cooked this summer!

This is what I did to promote air flow through the cabin. It is very effective even in 95 degree heat in Homestead.

this is what we did originally....doesnt work anywhere near what the hose out the window does.
