Broken Cam Shaft on '90 CRX DX

I broke my cam shaft on my crx and was wondering if I have to swap the whole motor or if I can cut some corners and just replace a head or something.

Re: Broken Cam Shaft on '90 CRX DX

The block should be good unless you dropped a valve. Take your head off and inspect your pistons. And you might be able to buy a bare head, and re-use your valves/springs. Depends on the damage done by the cams.

Me: FAIL

The only way to tell is to take it apart. I'd say remove the camshaft, inspect for damage to the journals the cam seats in and if all looks good slap a "New-to-you" cam shaft in er. To bad you dont live near me i have one in my hand.
