Stealth Vs. Crossfire

1991 Dodge Stealth R/T TT: Stock
2005 Chrysler Crossfire: Stock

So, today it was time to do the inspection for the Stealth. We have a family friend that we take them to so my dad and I both made an appointment with him for this morning. I followed him all the way there. When we were done he made the crack about how he beat me all the way there and that I can't be that fast. He obviously meant it jokingly.

We left and were headed down towards I-15 and I love the entrance. Perfect for a good race. We came down the hill and it was clear and the light was green. He changed to the right lane which merges and the light changed to yellow. I get up next to him and he's inching, anticipating the light. The other light turns yellow and he brings up the revs. I don't do anything since we're on an incline and I don't want to roll into the intersection. The light turns green and I give it throttle while letting the clutch grab only a little to build some boost and once it does I dump it and take off. I left him in the dust. I left him bus lengths behind, at least three, maybe four by the time I hit the turn to the on ramp which I took going 105. I let off and once I got to the end of the on ramp I saw him fly around the turn.

Not bad for being stock.

Cliffs: It's not that long you hose head.

Nice race. What mods do you all have done Polygon? Have you done the free boost mod or are you still boosting 9 psi? If not, do it and get yourself 12!

Yeah, free boost mod has been done. I just don't consider that a mod. It does have a K&N cone filter, but I don't consider that a mod either.

Re: Stealth Vs. Crossfire

Well Poly, you just need a catless aftermarket downpipe and you'll be scootin'. Seriously though, if you can get even a Megan racing DP with a gutted rear precat you'll have a very noticable difference in power.

Re: Stealth Vs. Crossfire

Yeah, I would love to spend kind of money on the Stealth but right now I focus on the GTC until it's done. If I spend a lot of money on both neither will ever get done. I do spend money from time to time on the Stealth though.

Once the GTC is done, there's a monster in the works. The exhaust will have precat eliminators and I'll be using the IPS quad system.

He let me drive it once and I wasn't impressed. Numb steering and it was quick at best. I'd agree that looks is all it has going for it. Also, the interior is abysmal. At least he knows how slow it is now.

Re: Stealth Vs. Crossfire

I agree, get those cats out of there! My friend's exhaust is catless on his vr4 andit moves nicely on 15psi, really dont know what a stock one feels like though lol. Too bad he is selling it

When i went catless I barely noticed a difference, but I also already had downpipe with a high flow cat! Noticed a slight top end gain, but when i originally put the exhaust on there were impressive gains. Now we are talking about two different cars, and yours has three times as many cats, but when the gtc is done i would catless dp and boost cobtroller asap!

The exhaust will probably be the first thing I do once I start on the Stealth.

Good kill! Those things are pretty but yeah...not a match against your Stealth. Still, pretty kill!

Yeah, he'd actually like to know what he could do to it that wouldn't cost him much. He's still upset about how bad he got beat. I was working on it and he asked what I was doing and I said getting the rest of your doors out from under the car.

He was not amused.

Re: Stealth Vs. Crossfire

I have a friend with a Crossfire vert. and Ive driven it several times. He always talked about spanking my GTP with it.

We raced twice from a dig and I put a few lengths on him by 100 but from a 40mph roll it was a little different. I would pull about half a car and it would stay that way till around 100 and he started to inch forward and by time I shut down at 120 he was ahead by a fender...

Id like to see an SRT Crossfire on the road. I would need something like an LS1 to keep up with it...

Psshhht, the LS1 is nothing but a pure myth and does not exist.

Get real.

Re: Stealth Vs. Crossfire

I saw an LS1 once, it wasn't real, it was just a kit car. It had stickers!
