Subaru as a First Car?

Hi, I'm getting my first car in the next few months and I was wondering if going with a Subaru is a good idea? A lot of people said get a Civic but our winters in Montreal have been getting worse and I'm looking for AWD. I'm willing to go between $6,000.00 and $10,000.00. I'm not a kid-I work full-time, it's my own money, I just want something reliable.

Looking at the Impreza--between 2000 and 2002 with standard transmission.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Subaru as a First Car?

I will tell you what is probably well known in the automotive world: everything depends on how the vehicle has been treated. I do not have much information about newer Subaru generations, I still drive 92 Loyale. This car is very good! But once again I am the sole owner. 3000 miles for oil changes and spotless engine bay.

Check out www.ultimatesubaru.org. The guys there are gurus. There you will get more details and support.

Good luck,

Sam
