2008 or 2009 impala

Can you tell me if the 2008 or 2009 impalas with the 3.9L engine have the same 4 speed transmission?

It might sway my decision to buy another.

Re: 2008 or 2009 impala

2000 - 2010 Impalas ALL have the 4T65E, Just some minor revisions in 2003, and then again in 2006. They are a bit more realiable in the 08/09s then they were in the 2000 - 2002s tho.

Re: 2008 or 2009 impala

Thanks for the answer. I re-read what I sent, and I was not clear at all. I presently have a 2000LS. I was wondering if they had changed transmissions, or at least improved them to where they don't need repaired or replaced as soon. Your answer helped.

Thank you for the input.

Re: 2008 or 2009 impala

Yes, they updated the valve body and Solenoids in 2003 for the 2004 model year. They less prone to failure AS much (still happens sometimes).

2006 was some minor changes (unsure if it was just to accomidate the new ECM setup). Alot of 2006 SS' (with the 5.3 V8) were cooking their transmissions with low millage, but haven't heard the same happening with 07 and up. Either way they are more reliable than your 2000.

Thanks for the input. I love the car for the most part, just hate the tranny issue.
