Unhappy 1983 Cressida Help

I have a 83 Cressida Sedan that's my pride and joy. I've been trying to restore her to her past beauty and I've hit a snag. The air intake connector has a hole in it. It's been patched up before, but I don't think it can be patched this time. I've tried every parts store I could find and tried to order it from toyota, but the part has been discontinued. Toyota told me to try ebay. Does anbody know a website that carries old toyota parts(besides ebay-no luck-2 months) or some adhesive that will seal it up. I'll try to post pics of the old patch later today. I've been searching for months, but no luck. Thanks in advance.

Re: 1983 Cressida Help

You could try a scrap yard. You might have to either make the part your self or buy a cold air intake set up. I know you're probably trying to keep it stock, it just may not be possible.
Post a picture of the part if you could.

Re: 1983 Cressida Help

You could try some Duro plastic welder epoxy to fill the hole. It sets fairly fast (15 minutes) and stinks like hell, but it does a good job of rebuilding plastic pieces. After it cures, you can machine it, sand it, paint it, etc.

You could also purchase a plastic welder, which is basically a cross between a hot glue gun and a soldering iron. The tip is heated and pressed against the part to be repaired, and a hole through the tip allows you to insert the welding stick of plastic to melt and flow into the repair. As long as the weld site is not at a stress concentration (i.e. a support bracket tab), the weld should hold. Various weld sticks are available to match the material being repaired.

http://www.dskatools.com/ Click on specialty tools it will be around page six. This is large diameter vacuum tubing with a swag lock. They have a decent tool price if you need some items. Grey pneumatic makes 12 point impacts 30mm and 32mm. They also make 10mm,12mm,14mm deep 12 point impacts for a good price. $30 or $40 minimum order.
