Old Alarm Systems

THe one the previous owner had in the car is annoying as crap. Everytime I take off the negative part of my battery and put it back on, the thing will not shut up. I have to re-adjust the remote about 50 times in order to just turn it off once. I see the alarm system ecu thing under my steering wheel and stuff, but Im afraid it might turn off something important, such as ignition, power to everything, etc... Does anyone have experience in taking these out?

unplug it and try to start the car. if the car starts, your good. if it doens not start then it has a built-in starter kill. you will have to rewire that part.
You won't hurt anything by unpluging it.
