getting frustrated

i have a 02 alero 2.2L the "trac off" n "service eng. soon" light are on i tried everything n just can turn them off i try checking them with an abs machine and it tell me me the code P0340 CAM SHAFT POSITION CIRCUIT is wrong so i went to and try to buy such sensor but i was told this car is not eqquipped with such sensor any ideas on wath to do with this issue pls help n thank you

This may not be the same scenario but maybe it will help you out.

I remember working on a car several years back that was giving the same cam position out of place message. I took the car to my brothers shop; he has better diagnotic equipment. His equipment gave us 2 different messages. I can't remember for the life of me what the other two messages were or what I replaced, but when I fixed those the warning lights went off. The point is the real problem had nothing to do with the cam position sensor.
