I was wondering how the AWD's handle snow and bad weather ?
Reason being, Im looking at buying a totaled one for parts. Going to make an AWD Grand AM!

Re: AWD how do they add up ?
Quote:
If you are going to try and make the Grand Am AWD, you'll need a cutting torch, a couple sledge hammers, and an arc welder. :sarcasm1:You would have to replace the entire rear chassis section, custom fit some sort of driveshaft from the transfer case to the rear diff (the setup is not so much a standard driveshaft as it is a torque tube). And then have to figure out the electronics, since the Versatrak system is not an AWD, it is on demand as determined by wheel slip. |

Re: AWD how do they add up ?
I am totaly aware of all the manufactoring that'll need done. I just wanted to know how well they handled the snow. Though that versatrak sounds chinsy... ... maybe I should rethink this?!
