96 jimmy tranny problem
i have a 96 gmv jimmy, after the car has set awhile and i get in and try to go in reverse it doesnt kick in for a lil while some times a couple mins, i can give it some gas and it will kick into gear, also after it kicks into reverse it seems to need 1500 rpms or so to get moving, it needs alot of gas to get going backwards and slowly at that, after ive been driving the car for awhile it seems to go into reverse easier. it goes in drive just fine though. the tranny fuild looks fine and doesnt smell burnt

Confirm fluid level engine hot and engine running with transmission in park. How many miles on transmission and ever been serviced. If not change filter and see what is in bottom of pan. Post back if any clutch aor metal in it. Also a good engine capable scanner may show up problems in transmission? Any codes or check engine lights?
