Intermittent radio

On my 2001 Tahoe, when the radio or cd player is playing the unit continiously cuts in and out regardless if your driving or not. I was thinking maybe a grounding problem.Appreciate any ideas.

sounds like hacked wiring...remove the radio and check that the wires where not improperly routed/connected..

another cause may be the OEM speakers,,,they are of very poor quality,,,my speakers failed....coil opened...at first they will make cracking noises then no sound...
