Intermittent speedometer/odometer

Hello,

My '97 LeSabre now has an intermittent speedometer/odometer. I could likely repair it if I had a schematic. Even the connector pinout would help. Does anyone know where to get the schematic? This IPC is the one with (4) gauges plus speedometer and tach.

Does the data arrive at the inst cluster via a serial data form? My '91 Reatta uses the serial data means.

Regards,
Jack C.

Re: Intermittent speedometer/odometer

Here's an update on my speedometer.

I bought a used unit for a '95 or '96, but it had the wrong wiring and was not identical. After some sweating and sputtering and innovation, I took the defective unit, made up a power supply and pulse generator, and was able to find an intermittent by flexing the circuit board. It was ultimately solved by resoldering three points of connections on the board.

Regards,
Jack C.
