7.3 powerstroke dies at random....
I have a 95 f250 with the 7.3l powerstroke in it. great motor! but it's starting to die at random. so far though it's been at stop lights but not all the time. i think it might be the fuel filter canister in between the heads. reason being is that it's been leaking slightly for awhile now but i think its starting to get worse. i've been noticing though if i hit the gas pedal from dead stop until about 30mph or so and then slow back to a stop it tends to die more often.
I don't know. I think it needs an overhaul. its starting to burn diesel upon start up. any help would be great. thanks.

Re: 7.3 powerstroke dies at random....
do you get a check eng light it could be your crank position sensor that is located on the pass side by the harmonic balancer or it could be your fuel pump in the valie that behind the fuel bowl a indication of crank sensor is when your drive ing it the engine will seem to huicup like it stop and startes or it will random die then you can restarte it they are known to just go bad
