I learned the hard way. There's a fairly big decal that goes on the intake of the Porsche 911 GT1. I was still experimenting before I found out about this site, or heard about Microsol. Thought I could "shrinkwrap" the decal on, so it would look real good. Well, the decal looks brilliant, but all the suspension arms are no longer straight. I have cut them all off and am in the process of redoing the suspension, but it is a major PiTA.

I don't think it's necessary to blow dry them ever. It's very dangerous.

I blow dry mine all the time. I hold the thing back from the part on the lowest setting that provides heat. Another alternative is to hold it in from of an electric heater set on low. I've done that before too. You just have to make sure you don't heat the plastic enough to melt it. You just want to melt the decal so it will conform. Use plenty of decal solvent too.

Definately need to use caution with this method. Use bursts of heat instead of one continuous blast, then you won't run the risk of warping any plastic.

Not really. Just make sure you draw out most of the water out of the decal by touching the decal with a piece of paper towel or something. There should be plenty of adhesion so that the decal doesn't move.
