97 transport high rpms problem

Hey,

I've only had this van for a couple months, but just the other day I looked down and @120km/hr my rpms were @5000... Generally at that speed they sit in the 3000 range...

I am also having a sometimes problem where i'll start it, then it will turn off and will only start on the 2nd try.

I had a the fuel pump replaced in May... and some other things I'm not really sure about... I can check the bill though.

City driving is fine and normal.

Not sure what to do about this, but wanted to ask around before I took it into the shop, as I've already dropped over a grand into this van and I just need it to last a couple more months until the painting season is over.

Re: 97 transport high rpms problem

Seems 4th gear does not engage. I do not have detailed data for 97, but a throttle position sensor failure in former years will inhibit 4th, TCC and cruise control......does your cruise control work ? Is the check engine light ON ?
