pos 95 cougar need help

i have a 95 cougar that is idling at about 3000rpm's. i hvae gone through all the vacuum lines and checked sensors. replaced egr valve per one mechanics thought nd it still runs the same. any ideas??

you say you checked all sensors?? what sensors and why?? are there codes?? what eng, how many miles, is eng light on?? did you check air idle sensor , TPS, cruise control cable accell cable it doesn't take much pull on either cable to increase rpm?? maybe I helped who knows?? good luck

it has a 3.8 v6 there is no check engine light on at this time it does work though. i checked the tps, iac, and maf sensors in hope that one was faulty. even checked the sensor that idles engine up when a/c is engaged.

ok it very well could be machanical since no codes. I suggest you remove all cables from TB see if that allows proper idle if it does one at a time return cable lines, one could be sticking not allowing proper return on TB.Good Luck let me know how you do.
