Suspension

I have a 2001 Bravada with just under 90K on it and want to replace the struts/shocks.

My question is, what other suspension parts should be replaced at this time to restore an "as new" ride quality?

Re: Suspension

I would be more concerned with the integrity of the ball joints than anything else.

Re: Suspension

Along with the new shocks, new tires or rotation & balance and an alignment check/adjustment with their usual inspection makes mine feel tighter & better.

Re: Suspension

What about springs? Would they be fatigued enough to warrant replacement?

Re: Suspension

I wouldn't think they would be fatigued under normal use but if you spend time where the springs would really get worked like rough roads or even off-road, they might be getting soft.
On a very level surface, you might measure the height and compare right front against the left front then compare the right rear against the left rear. I'd be real happy if they didn't vary more than 1/2 inch.

Re: Suspension

Well here's the final tally of suspension compnents to be replaced...

Front sway bar links
Control arm bushings
Upper and lower ball joints

The struts passed the bounce test, so they're gonna stay on for awhile longer until I can get some more $ saved...many more things needed attention...
