Windshield Washer Pump

Hello all,

This spring my windshield washer pump died out like in March. I replaced it with one from Autozone and it worked great until a couple of weeks ago when it decided to have a mind of it's own. It works here and there, but it is not reliable. I am just perplex at how fast the replacement pump died out. Before I replace it again, I was wondering if any one knows if something is causing this problem? For example, would having a very old battery have any effects on the electrical components. I have a 2002 grand prix and the batter is still the original.

Thanks.

Re: Windshield Washer Pump

Mine does the same exact thing. I believe my issue is due to a wiring problem.

Re: Windshield Washer Pump

I agree it may be a wiring issue. Since the reservoir is mounted in the wheel well, corrosion is common in the harness.
